About the brand
Cam & Ruth Bakery is a brand exercise designed to represent a food truck business that sells hand pies in Asheville, NC.
Their pies are made fresh in the morning at home through a reliable, “old-world” technique ↠ They stone-mill their flour in-house with grains that are regionally sourced and baked in a masonry oven.
Mission Statement
Seeks to bridge a stronger relationship between local farmers and bread enthusiasts in their Southern community.
Vision Statement
To uplift local, small businesses in the community through using regionally sourced ingredients in the hand pies they bake.
Strategic Decisions
For Cam & Ruth Bakery, the brand identity was designed to reflect a reliable tradition and determination that connects with people who live in Asheville.
Creating a logo package with different design collateral such as a branded to-go box and a custom menu, I had to find a balance between something fun and “poppy” and something historical and relevant.
This brand identity speaks directly to what its customers love ↠ the high proficiency and determination that goes into making something as warm and simple as a delicious, hand pie.
